GIS-BIM integration: Budget management and environmental indicators in project and construction
Case study: Reinforcement of road surfaces
In the progressive digitalization of all AECO sector activity, BIM has played a central role, both from the perspective of technological backbone (generation of graphic and non-graphic databases) and from the adoption of collaborative work processes of the agents involved. For this reason, it has become normal to consider that digital models are BIM models. The reality, however, is more diverse, and digital models are not always necessarily BIM. Under this consideration, GIS is capable of generating digital models that can, if necessary, complement the BIM methodology, or make sense autonomously in those projects and works whose nature makes the GIS model make more sense than a BIM model. This webinar aims to make this consideration clear by showing how collaborative work (oriented to BIM processes) can be carried out based on GIS digital models to interact with other disciplines: in this specific case the generation of budgets in the project drafting phase and economic monitoring in the construction phase. This work is complemented by the analysis of environmental indicators that are necessary to improve the sustainability of our assets. The impact of CO2eq emissions is one of the most relevant today given the challenges of decarbonization. We invite you to the webinar where the workflow that allows going from the GIS model to budget tools such as TCQ and the BEDEC databases (economic and environmental) will be shown, showing a real project in which this methodology has been applied. A support guide will also be presented to help apply the methodology presented, which will be available as a priority for webinar attendees.
