The company IBEROLAM TIMBER & TECHNOLOGY has obtained DAU 26/161 for its IB-LamMix structural products of combined glulam laminated wood of poplar and softwood.

The DAU includes structural products with symmetrical or asymmetrical configuration, based on Canadian poplar wood of the botanical species Populus x euroamericana (Dode) Guinier clones MC and Luisa Avanzo, and softwood (black pine) of the botanical species Pinus nigra Arnold subsp. salzmannii (Dune) Franco. This product is not included in the harmonized standard EN 14080, because it is based on clones of poplar wood not covered by the standard.

The range of cross-sections considered goes from 70 mm to 260 mm in width, and from 80 mm to 600 mm in height. Gluing between laminations is done by cold pressing with a single-component polyurethane adhesive and a primer; The finger joints are executed with the same adhesive.

IB-LamMix glulam products are intended for the construction of load-bearing timber structures, in service classes 1 to 3, and in accordance with the UNE-EN 1995-1-1 standard (Eurocode 5).

The DAU mainly evaluates the structural performance of the product, including its fire behaviour (reaction and fire resistance), as well as other additional features (thermal conductivity, water vapour permeability, durability).
