INTERNATIONAL PAINT LTD (AKZONOBEL) has obtained the ETA 26/0098 for its Interchar 1150 intumescent paint
The company INTERNATIONAL PAINT LTD (AKZONOBEL) has obtained the ETA 26/0098 for its Interchar 1150 intumescent paint for fire protection of steel structural elements.
Interchar 1150 is a single component water based intumescent coating. It is used with primers and topcoats, where appropriate. Interchar 1150 is intended to fire protect various sizes of open section (H/I) beams and columns and hollow section columns in order to achieve the fire resistance classification according to EN 13501-2, in the design temperatures range of 300 ºC to 750 ºC.
The evaluation has been carried out according to EAD 350402-00-1106 and has consisted of the determination of the fire resistance of the protected steel structural elements, the reaction to the coating system (including the primers and topcoats indicated in the ETA), the adherence and the durability of the coating system for different environmental exposure conditions, both for the paint without topcoat (Type Z1) and with the topcoats indicated in the ETA (Type X to Type Z1).
