The company MAPEI SPAIN SAU has obtained the DAU 25/155 for its Mapetherm Tile System: ETICS with ceramic tiles as exterior cladding and MW boards as insulating layer.

Mapetherm^® MW Tile System XL and M/S provide external thermal insulation and contributes to the impermeability of masonry or concrete façade walls, with thermal insulation thicknesses from 40 mm to 200 mm.

The system is made up of the Mapetherm^® AR1, Mapetherm^® AR1 GG or Mapetherm^® AR1 Light white adhesive mortars, the Mapetherm^® MW TR7.5 mineral wool, the Planitop HDM Maxi mortar base with a reinforcing mesh, and different Mapei adhesive mortars and grouting mortars, depending on the formats of ceramic cladding pieces according to EN 14411 that are considered in the project. Several pieces of ceramic cladding of different formats have been evaluated; these cladding elements are not part of the kit marketed by the ETA holder.

The evaluation has been carried out taking into account the EAD 040287-00-0404 Kits for external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS) with panels as thermal insulation product and discontinuous claddings as exterior skin and considering the regulatory requirements of Spanish Building code (CTE-Código Técnico de la Edificación).

The evaluation of the Mapetherm^® MW Tile System XL and M/S has considered the following essential characteristics of the system: reaction to fire, impermeability to rainwater, permeability to water vapour, durability, mechanical behaviour (wind and impact resistance, behaviour against self-weight, mechanical capacity of the components, adhesions and resistance of the fasteners) and thermal performance.
