The company PIVETEAU BOIS has been granted ETA 24/1097 for its cross-laminated wood structural panels HEXAPLI.
HEXAPLI are panels made of softwood boards (Douglas fir, Spruce and Pine according to EN 1912) which are bonded together to form cross laminated timber (solid wood slab elements), including at least 3 and up to 9 layers:
- HEXAPLI C24/C18 has boards of strength class C24 in cover layers and inner layers oriented parallel to cover layers, and boards of strength class C18 in inner layers oriented perpendicular to cover layers.
- HEXAPLI C24/C24 has boards of strength class C24 in cover layers and inner layers oriented parallel and perpendicular to cover layers.

Adjacent layers are generally arranged perpendicularly (angle of 90º) to each other. Cross-sections of the solid wood slabs are symmetric. The HEXAPLI panels can be covered with decorative layers for visual purpose and without mechanical purpose.
Polyurethane adhesives Type 1 in accordance with EN 15425 are used for the surface bonding between layers and for the finger joints.
Boards are machine or visually strength graded; only technically dried wood shall be used.
HEXAPLI panels are intended to be used as structural or non-structural elements in buildings and timber structures subject to static and quasi static actions only, in service classes 1 and 2 according to EN 1995-1-1.
The ETA, prepared according to EAD 130005-00-0304 Solid wood slab element to be used as a structural element in buildings, basically focuses on the thorough assessment of the structural performance of the panels, including their behaviour against fire (reaction and resistance to fire), as well as some other additional characteristics of the panels (acoustic airborne and impact insulation, thermal conductivity, water vapor permeability).
