IX National Congress of Municipal Engineering
The city you imagine, you build
On December 11, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., the IX National Congress of Municipal Engineering (CIM), organized by ITeC, will take place in the auditorium of CosmoCaixa.
This congress aims to discuss the challenges facing cities in this era of profound structural and technological changes. Among the main topics that will be discussed are:
- Housing: the Generalitat de Catalunya’s plan, called the 50,000 Plan, provides for the construction of 50,000 new public housing units by 2030 and an annual investment of 1,100 million euros to expand the public housing stock.
- Urban planning: transformation of existing neighbourhoods, improving infrastructure, environment and quality of life.
- Infrastructures: resilience, adaptation to climate change, digitalisation of networks and self-sufficient energy.
- Artificial intelligence and digitalisation: debate on how AI can improve efficiency in local administrations, always with appropriate training and tools.
The congress will serve as a meeting point for municipal engineers, public officials, professionals in the sector and experts in urban planning and infrastructure. The transversal approach of the four axes aims to propose comprehensive solutions that combine environmental sustainability, technological efficiency and social justice.
