The CAdIC presents its 15th document at the ITeC
On June 3, the Infrastructure Advisory Council of Catalonia ( CAdIC ) presented its 15th document , entitled “The necessary planning for sand management on the Catalan coast” in the ITeC auditorium.
The report, prepared by Ramón Arandes, focuses on the regression of the Catalan coastline , one of the country’s most urgent environmental challenges, and calls on administrations to reverse the situation with scientific rigor. It also proposes 10 specific measures to preserve the coastline.
The CAdIC warns that the regression is due to the lack of river sediment contributions, climate change and the impact of ports and breakwaters, and insists that preserving beaches is an environmental issue, but also an economic and social one.
