Aridittive transforms Sutton Barcelona into the world's first nightclub renovated with 3D printing on concreteThe Catalan startup Aridditive, a member of the Barcelona ConTech Hub, has carried out the renovation of the emblematic Sutton Barcelona nightclub using 3D printing technology in concrete, making it the first nightclub in the world to intervene on this scale with this advanced construction system.

The project, developed together with Construnext and with the collaboration of mills in the development of the material, represents a new example of how ConTech technologies are beginning to move from the experimental field to real high-impact applications within the construction and interior design sector.

The action has made it possible to manufacture more than 340 functional elements off-site, including sofas, stairs, bars, DJ booth and different architectural pieces, all of them produced directly from the digital model of the project. Thanks to this approach based on advanced manufacturing and prefabrication, the complete refurbishment could be executed in just seven weeks, compared to the nearly five months that a traditional process would have required.

In addition to the reduction in deadlines, the project has also led to a significant improvement in terms of sustainability and efficiency. Digital manufacturing made it possible to reduce concrete consumption by about 45%, avoiding approximately 50 tons of COâ‚‚ emissions associated with the production and transport of the material. In addition, there is less dependence on a specialized workforce and greater control over the execution and final quality of the elements.

Aridditive highlights that one of the main objectives of the project was to demonstrate that 3D printing on concrete can already respond to real challenges in the sector, especially in complex projects where execution times and construction precision are critical.

The initiative reflects the advancement of new construction methodologies based on digitization, automation, and offsite manufacturing, areas that are increasingly playing a leading role within the ConTech ecosystem and the industrial transformation of the AECO sector. Projects like this show how startups, industry, and construction companies can collaborate to accelerate more efficient, sustainable, and technologically advanced construction, also consolidating the growing role of the innovative ecosystem promoted by the Barcelona ConTech Hub.
