Brussels promotes a new model to create startups in 48 hours for less than 100 euros

The European Commission has presented a new pan-European legal framework for startups, known as EU Inc. or “regime 28“, which will allow you to create a company in less than 48 hours, digitally and for less than 100 euros, according to El Español.

The initiative aims to reduce the fragmentation of the European market and facilitate the growth of innovative companies on a continental scale, without replacing existing national legislations. In this sense, companies will be able to take advantage of it voluntarily, within a model designed to simplify processes and improve access to financing.

Among the main measures, the complete digitalisation of the business life cycle stands out, from incorporation to operations such as capital increases or share transfers, as well as the possibility of presenting information only once through a European interface connected to national registers.

The plan also incorporates mechanisms to attract talent and investment, such as the creation of stock option plans at European level or the reduction of administrative burdens. In addition, it provides simplified procedures for the liquidation of startups, with more agile and fully digital processes.

However, the proposal has generated criticism for a possible lack of ambition. Some experts point out that keeping key aspects such as taxation or labour legislation under the competence of the member states could lead to differences in application between countries and limit their real impact.

Despite these criticisms, Brussels argues that the new model will significantly reduce the administrative burden and strengthen European competitiveness in other ecosystems such as the United States, in a context in which the ability to create and scale startups is key to innovation and economic growth.
