Molins strengthens industrialized construction with the acquisition of Zenet

Molins has announced the acquisition of 90% of Zenet, a company specialising in the manufacture of prefabricated structural concrete, in an operation that reinforces the group’s commitment to industrialised housing construction , as reported by the company in its corporate communication.

Based in Escalonilla (Toledo), Zenet has a production plant located on a plot of 184,000 m², with the capacity to manufacture up to 45,000 m² per month of elements for slabs, and has a team of 50 specialized professionals. Founded in 2007, the company focuses its activity on residential, industrial and civil works, and stands out for products such as the honeycomb plate, a key component in industrialized construction systems.

The operation allows Molins to expand its production capacity and dossier of structural solutions, as well as respond to the growing demand for industrialized housing in the central area of Spain. Zenet’s founding partner, César Abad, will remain a shareholder after the merger.

This acquisition is part of Molins’ inorganic growth strategy in the field of prefabricated products, after recent operations in Portugal and southeastern Europe, with the aim of building an industrial network with greater geographical coverage and proximity to the main demand markets.

From a sectoral perspective, movements such as this confirm the consolidation of precast concrete as a strategic lever to scale up industrialized construction, improving efficiency, deadlines and response capacity of the sector. A trend fully aligned with the vision promoted by the Barcelona ConTech Hub, aimed at accelerating the adoption of industrialized models and technologies that allow the transformation of the construction sector.
