Nine out of ten construction companies plan to increase their investment in AI by 2026

Artificial intelligence is consolidating itself as one of the major technological priorities in the construction sector. According to the IFS 2026 trends and predictions report, released by Byte TI, 91% of construction and engineering companies plan to increase their investment in AI throughout 2026, confirming a transformation that was already accelerating from 2024.
The study links this evolution with the modernization of management systems. A previous IFS report already pointed out that 63% of companies in the sector planned to implement a new ERP within one or two years, as a key step to scale the use of artificial intelligence within the organization.
In the operational field, the application of AI in industrial environments linked to construction is already generating measurable results. According to IFS data, the main current uses are focused on project execution (62%) and business intelligence (59%). In addition, 89% of companies that have adopted AI early say they have increased their profitability, with notable improvements such as 44% more operational efficiency compared to the cross-sector average, a 42% reduction in supply costs and 36% less in project costs.
In a context of economic volatility and pressure on margins, the comprehensive control of the project becomes strategic. Industrial AI, integrated on ERP platforms prepared to unify data and automate processes, makes it possible to anticipate deviations, reduce errors derived from manual processes and accelerate decision-making.
Everything points to the fact that 2026 will mark a new turning point for a more connected, efficient and productivity-oriented construction industry, with artificial intelligence as a structural lever for competitiveness.
