Sacyr promotes a new edition of iChallenges to connect innovation and real projects

Sacyr has launched a new stage of its iChallenges open innovation programme, a consolidated initiative that connects startups, companies and technology centres with real business challenges to develop solutions that can be applied in operational environments.
After seven editions, more than 1,700 proposals evaluated and 18 pilots developed, the program evolves towards a model with greater focus and agility, addressing specific challenges individually in direct collaboration with the company’s different business units.
The first challenge of this new stage focuses on improving the safety and efficiency of roads through technologies such as robotics, sensors, drones and intelligent systems, applied both in the construction phase and in the operation and maintenance of infrastructures.
The program is open to startups, scaleups, consolidated companies and other agents in the ecosystem, which will be able to validate their solutions through pilot projects in real environments, with the possibility of subsequently scaling them internationally within Sacyr’s portfolio, present in more than 20 countries.
Among the differential elements of iChallenges is its orientation towards co-creation and applied innovation, as well as its focus on solutions with real impact, sustainability and scalability. The program also facilitates access to expert teams and new opportunities for long-term collaboration.
Success stories such as EHAB, with AI-based climate risk analysis solutions, Captoplastic, with technology to eliminate microplastics, or KenoteQ, with sustainable building materials, exemplify the program’s potential to transform challenges into concrete solutions.
With this new edition, Sacyr reinforces its commitment to open innovation as a lever for transformation, connecting talent and technology with the real needs of the infrastructure and construction sector.
