The Barcelona ConTech Hub participates in the IC2 congress to highlight the role of startups in the transformation of the sector

The Barcelona ConTech Hub has participated this week in the Innovation Industry Construction Congress (IC2), one of the benchmark meetings in the field of innovation applied to construction, held in Santander and organized by the PTEC (Spanish Construction Technology Platform), the Network of Construction Clusters and the University of Cantabria.
The Hub’s presence at this congress is part of its mission to continue promoting innovation and technological entrepreneurship within the construction sector, as well as to strengthen the visibility of ConTech startups as key agents in the digital, industrial and sustainable transformation of the industry.
During the congress, the director of the Barcelona ConTech Hub, Paco Gómez Escofet, moderated the session “Contribution of the startup ecosystem to the construction sector”, a space for debate dedicated to analysing how start-ups are contributing to solving some of the sector’s major challenges through innovation, technology and new business models.
The round table was attended by professionals and representatives of prominent organizations such as Gonzalo de Diego Barrenechea (SPTO – Spanish Patent and Trademark Office), Juan Ramón Mena (MELLO), Francisco Bea (ACUSTRAIN), Santiago Jesús GarcÃa Beltrán (MONITORA IngenierÃa de Corrosión) and Javier Garmendia (ODEI), who shared experiences and reflections on the growing role of startups in the evolution of the sector.
The Hub’s participation in the IC2 has also served to continue strengthening relations with the main players in the construction innovation ecosystem at the national level, identifying opportunities for collaboration and generating new connections between companies, technology centres, administrations and entrepreneurs.
The Barcelona ConTech Hub would like to especially thank the trust of the organization and, in particular, of Carlos MartÃnez Bertrand, Juan Jesús Muñoz and Enrique Manuel Cobreros GarcÃa, for having the Hub in this edition of the congress.
Participation in events such as the IC2 reinforces the Barcelona ConTech Hub’s commitment to promoting a ConTech ecosystem that is increasingly connected, innovative and prepared to face the future challenges of construction.
