In recent years, there has been a development of technologically advanced timber products on the construction market. This development corresponds to increasing environmental needs and the possibilities that timber offers in this area, in combination with the progress made in the field of fixing elements.

For this reason, there is an increasing number of European Assessment Documents (EAD) that makes possible CE marking for these innovative products, through European Technical Assessments (ETA). EADs are European technical specifications for innovative products and for products without a harmonised standard.

At present there are 15 published EAD and 20 in progress in product area No. 13 “Structural timber products /elements and ancillaries” of the Construction Products Regulation.

ITeC EOTA Office and the Product Quality Department of ITeC have drawn up the article “Timber products in European Assessment Documents”, to provide an overview of related European Assessment Documents published as of this date in the OJEU.
