Publication of nineteen European Assessment Documents

By Published On: 27/07/2020Categories: Old-EOTA

Report No. 24 of the EOTA Office of the ITeC highlights the publication of Commission Implementing (EU) Decision 2020/962 on European Assessment Documents (EAD), in the Official Journal of the European Union.

This Decision includes nineteen EAD, of which seventeen have been developed on the basis of ETA requests from manufacturers, and two correspond to the conversion of two ETA Guidelines (ETAG), which are: ETAG 011, on composite wood-based beams and columns, and ETAG 015, on three-dimensional nailing plates.

In Report No. 24 you can consult the references – code and title – of the nineteen EADs published, and on the EOTA website the texts of these EADs.

It also draws particular attention to the letter of support for the ETA route written to the Commissioner for Internal Market, Mr Thierry Breton, by eleven Spanish associations and bodies. This letter relates to the revision of the Construction Product Regulation, the process of which has been officially initiated with a survey for inception impact assessment, recently launched by the Commission.

The ETA route enables innovative products and products without a harmonised standard to have access to the European market. For this market to be wide, complete, and accessible to any product and company, it is essential that this route be maintained in the revision of the Regulation.

The Reports of ITeC EOTA Office regularly compile information – news with comments – and relevant documents issued at European level, based on EOTA meetings and documents circulated through this organisation.

EOTA is the European Organisation for Technical Assessment dealing with products either not covered by any harmonised standard or deviating from an existing harmonised standard. As a member of EOTA, ITeC participates actively at all levels of this European Organisation.
