In Report No. 25 of ITeC EOTA Office, the publication of the Commission Execution Decision (EU) 2020/1574 on the European Assessment Documents (EAD) in the Official Journal of the European Union is highlighted.

This decision includes twenty-five EAD, of which eight of them have been developed on the basis of an ETA manufacturer application, and seventeen correspond to the conversion of ten ETA Guidelines (ETAG), which are: ETAG 001, ETAG 004, ETAG 005, ETAG 007, ETAG 017, ETAG 019, ETAG 022, ETAG 028, ETAG 030 and ETAG 032.

In Report No. 25 references of the twenty-five published EAD can be consulted – code and title –, as well as these EAD texts (in English) in the EOTA website.

Likewise, the public consultation on the Construction Products Regulation revision is especially highlighted, which offers to all interested parties and users the opportunity to contribute. In this revision, EOTA sends a letter about the European Technical Assessment route mainly to manufacturers and associations, expressing its concerns about the radical changes proposed by the European Commission.

In addition, a study on the EADs and ETAs added value, developed by CSIL, which was published on September 21, is also announced.

Regarding EOTA, the 30 years on the side of the construction industry are celebrated. To do so, the EOTA Secretary General from 1992 until 2012, Mr. Paul Caluwaerts, published an article on its website where he debates on the way travelled and future challenges. Finally, the change at the head of ITeC’s EOTA Office is informed. Santiago del Pozo, who devoted himself to EOTA Office for 23 years, changes his position with María Bento.

The Reports of ITeC EOTA Office regularly compile information – news with comments – and relevant documents issued at European level, based on EOTA meetings and documents circulated through this organisation.

EOTA is the European Organisation for Technical Assessment dealing with products not covered by any harmonised standard or deviating from existing harmonised standard. As a member of EOTA, ITeC participates actively at all levels of this European Organisation.
