Report no. 18 of the ITeC EOTA Office draws attention to the progress in the work of converting ETA Guidelines to European Assessment Documents-EADs. At the end of 2018, almost 90% of the conversions in progress have finished the phase of adoption by the EOTA, and half will also have finished the subsequent Commission comments phase. Two of these EADs have recently been published in the Official Journal of the European Union-OJEU.

The Report also highlights the publication of twenty-two EADs in the latest list of EADs published in the OJEU, of which sixteen are new EADs, four are modifications of previously published EADs, and two are the conversions of ETA Guidelines referred to above – ETA Guidelines 027 and 034.

The first of these applies to falling rock protection kits (EAD 340059-00-0106) and the latter applies to kits for ventilated and non-ventilated façades with mechanically fixed cladding elements (EAD 090062-00-0404).

ITeC has led the conversion works of EAD 090062-00-0404 and has drawn up EAD 040138-01-1201, within the framework of the EOTA:

• EAD 090062-00-0404 Kits for external wall claddings mechanically fixed (conversion  of ETA Guideline 034)
• EAD 040138-01-1201 In-situ formed loose fill thermal and/or acoustic insulation products made of vegetable fibres (modification)

EOTA is the European Organisation for Technical Assessment dealing with products either not covered by any harmonised standard or deviating from an existing harmonised standard. As a member of EOTA, ITeC participates actively in all levels of this European Organisation.
