María Bento, Head of ITeC European Technical Regulation and Regulation and ITeC Representative at EOTA, has been appointed new President of the EOTA Technical Council (TB Chair) during the 26th General Assembly of EOTA held last April 8, succeeding Matthias Springborn (DIBt, Germany) in the position.

EOTA (European Organisation for Technical Assessment) is the European association of Technical Assessment Bodies (TABs) for construction products established under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR). ITeC is one of these institutions.

The position of Chair of the EOTA Technical Council is one of the key positions within EOTA, along with the positions of President, Treasurer and Secretary General.

The EOTA Technical Council is the body responsible for the management of all technical matters of EOTA, especially those related to European Assessment Documents (EADs) and European Technical Assessments (ETAs).

The entry into force of the new Construction Products Regulation (RPC 2024/3110) and its implementation will bring new challenges for EOTA. At ITeC, we are convinced that, under the technical management of María Bento, EOTA will be in the best hands.
