The HomeSkin project was a special guest at the ITeC stand at the Barcelona Building Construmat trade fair at Fira Barcelona from 23 to 26 May. This year’s trade fair was marked by a clear commitment to innovation as the key to the future of the construction sector.

ITeC works closely with the HomeSkin project as a key technology partner, and by showcasing it at Construmat has significantly enhanced its visibility in Spain.

On 12 and 13 June ITeC hosts the Technical Meeting of the HomeSkin project, which brings together some twenty experts from the various project partners.

The aim of the Barcelona get-together is to monitor progress, to analyze what has been achieved to date and to set priorities for the future evolution of the project. Among other issues, the participating experts will discuss the presentation of the qualities of the insulation product and the building systems that incorporate it.

The HomeSkin project, which is due to end in January 2018, is funded by the European research and innovation programme Horizon 2020. Its goal is to develop new products and building insulation solutions based on high-performance Advanced Aerogel-based Composite materials (AABC), which thanks to their aerogel content are up to three times more effective than standard insulation materials.

ITeC’s mission, in this project,  is to provide guidance on EU standards to ensure a positive reception for these products in the European market.
