A slowdown in the economy is not a good omen for any business sector, no matter what the circumstances. But for the European construction sector, there is some consolation in the fact that the change in the cycle arrives at a time when the building sites are busy, and the project pipeline is quite healthy.

The next Euroconstruct conference in Rome will be a good occasion to check if the European construction sector has regained enough strength to survive through another wave of “interesting times”, now that new housing will no longer be able to drive production as clearly as in the last years.
