HOMESKIN

Key Insulating material

The HomeSkin project has developed a new advanced composite material based on airgel with a very low thermal conductivity – lambda value: 15 mW/(mK) – three times more efficient than usual insulation materials and 60% lighter than standard insulation.

In addition, it combines excellent water vapor permeability without VOC emissions (volatile organic compounds).

This new material will be very competitive in the super-isolation of the European market, since it can be manufactured with a low-cost process.
