CAdIC presents the new study on infrastructures and circular economy

The Infrastructure Advisory Council of Catalonia (CAdIC) has recently approved document 16, entitled “Infrastructures and circular economy”. This is a strategic report that proposes to understand infrastructures not only as construction projects, but as integrated systems designed to be dismantled, reused and adapted.

The presentation of this study will take place on February 17, at 11 a.m., at the ITeC. It aims to present the main conclusions, which promote the reuse, recycling and rehabilitation of infrastructures, rather than relying on new materials that generate waste.

According to CAdIC, this strategy is not only environmental, but also a matter of industrial sovereignty and energy efficiency, encouraging local markets for recovered materials and the rehabilitation of existing buildings rather than building again.
