Last June, Ferran Bermejo, ITeC’s Technical Director, travelled to Chile to collaborate with the strategic Chilean plan which is being developed in the areas of productivity and sustainability in construction. This initiative is promoted by CORFO (Corporación para el Fomento) of the Chilean Ministry of Economy.

ITeC carried out these activities with the Chilean consultancy PMG, at the annual assembly of the Cámara Chilena de la Construcción (CChC), where a technical session about ITeC’s activities and services in areas such as BIM, restoration and energy efficiency, the support to innovation in products and construction systems, the EOTA office, the internationalisation of TCQ methodology… took place.

Thus, it was an optimum opportunity to exchange knowledge with the principal private and public Chilean agents from the construction sector: administration, promotors, professional associations, technological centres… . Organizations like the Agencia Chilena de Eficiencia Energética, the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile, the Colegio de Ingenieros de Chile, la Asociación de Oficinas de Arquitectos, the Corporación de Fomento de la Producción, el Ministerio de Vivienda y Urbanismo de Chile or the Centro Nacional para la Innovación y el Fomento de las Energías Sustentables were present, between others.

Coinciding with the CChC Assembly, CDT Awards, which recognise the contribution of companies to the construction sector in fields such as innovation or sustainability and which are promoted by the Corporación para el Desarrollo Tecnológico, were awarded.

The Assembly, which brought together representatives from building companies and professionals, presented the activities developed by the CDT, the growth experienced by the different working areas and its strong positioning as a technological model in the sector.

The CChC is a trade-union organization with the purpose to promote the development of the activity in the construction sector, as a key sector for the development of a country, as well as to give the support to construction workers.
