ESPREH: Tool for previewing the energy gains when renovating residential buildings

ESPREH: Tool for previewing the energy gains when renovating residential buildings

ESPREH is a free calculation tool (online and offline) that provides an initial quantification of the main parameters for energy renovation: demand reduction and reduction of non-renewable primary energy according to EN-ISO 52016, plus a budget of the renovation cost. Landlords, property managers and technicians can use it for quickly assessing different renovation scenarios and identify which ones meet the requirements of the Next Generation EU grants, and the subsidy amount that they can aspire to.

Carbon footprint report for a manufacturing company

Carbon footprint report for a manufacturing company

Carbon footprint calculation according to EN ISO 14064 and to Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG) standards and methodologies. The emissions measured and transformed into CO2e have been the direct ones of Scope 1 (fuel consumed by the company's facilities and vehicle fleet) plus the indirect ones of Scope 2 (emissions generated by the electricity consumed) and of Scope 3 (rest of activities outside the ownership or control of the company). After completing the calculation, the company has signed up for the verification program of their choice.

SPEEDIER project: promotion of energy efficiency in SMEs through energy audits

SPEEDIER project: promotion of energy efficiency in SMEs through energy audits

The European Union asks member states to encourage SMEs to optimize their energy efficiency, so companies should undertake energy audits as a first step for spotting opportunities for improvement. The aim of the SPEEDIER project is to create a self-financed, outsourced energy management service, tailored to the needs of the SMEs, which will also allow them to quantify the impact of the measures they implement.

Improvements in the energy management of sports facilities

Improvements in the energy management of sports facilities

The maintenance managers of sports facilities are in an optimal position to take up the challenge of reducing energy consumption. It is true that this adds more complexity and responsibility to their job; however, the popularization of certain technologies is providing fairly immediate remote control of the systems that concentrate most of the energy demand in this type of facilities.

Energy efficiency audits with the TCQi MNT application

Energy efficiency audits with the TCQi MNT application

A public body is using ITeC's TCQi MNT methodology and software to maintain the building stock under their responsibility and has observed that the data that is regularly collected during the maintenance processes could be used to carry out energy audits of those buildings. ITeC has customized the system to add some complementary data that will make it possible to audit not just the energy consumption and its environmental impact, but also which are the consumption hotspots and which ones can be improved.

Window calculator tool

Window calculator tool

The purpose of this tool is to promote the benefits of replacing old windows with new ones with better insulating properties. The user is asked to input the climatic zone where the building is located and the solar orientation of each window, and then is guided towards the most adequate choice of window, including the cost of the frame and glass, as well as the potential savings that can be achieved both in terms of energy (kWh/year) and money (€). The tool is designed to be updated according to the price fluctuations of energy and the components of the window.

Technical advice to prepare the call for bids for a nearly zero-energy municipal building

Technical advice to prepare the call for bids for a nearly zero-energy municipal building

A municipality develops a new building that, according to the deadlines for public facilities regarding EC Directive 2002/91, must be a nearly zero-energy building. ITeC has contributed to the drafting of the project competition specifications so that the winning proposal meets the environmental criteria with sufficient guarantee to achieve the nZEB status.

Pilot test for sensoring the buildings of a public developer

Pilot test for sensoring the buildings of a public developer

A public developer wants to explore further the monitoring of the buildings under its responsibility, cross-checking the energy consumption readings and other environmental indicators with the data of the building project, the as-built data and the maintenance program of each building, which have been prepared according to TCQ methods developed by ITeC. The objective is to collate all this information in a single repository and look for patterns that lead to better ways to manage the existing building stock and also optimize future projects.

Environmental check of the winner project in a design competition for a municipal facility

Environmental check of the winner project in a design competition for a municipal facility

A city council has put out to tender the architectural project for a new building and wants to make sure that the winning team will meet the environmental objectives defined in the specifications, so it has appointed ITeC to supervise the design. ITeC has checked the compliance with the environmental regulations, verified the correct calculation of the environmental footprint (COâ‚‚, energy and waste) and the compliance of the waste management plan with the specifications.
