Purpose of the tool
The ESPREH computer tool aims to facilitate the pre-dimensioning of the main energy rehabilitation parameters, compliance with which can give access to obtaining subsidies from the campaigns that have been launched within the framework of the Next Generation Europe funds.
ESPREH is not an energy certification tool nor does it intend to replace them in the processes of drafting projects or certification after the execution of a work. However, the calculation methodology is based on the UNE-EN-ISO 52016-1:2017 “ Energy efficiency of buildings. Calculation of energy needs for heating and cooling, interior temperatures and heating and cooling load. Part 1: Calculation procedures “. Therefore, the pre-dimensioned values will have a close relationship with the certification values.
Who is it aimed at and for what?
This is an instrument aimed at technical project writers to facilitate dialogue with their clients through the pre-evaluation of possible scenarios for the rehabilitation of their building and choosing the best option from a technical and economic point of view, as support for the decision to start the rehabilitation process in accordance with the requirements of Royal Decree 853/2021 ( https://www.boe.es/eli/es/rd/2021/10/05/853 )
What does it calculate?
The ESPREH tool facilitates the pre-dimensioning of demand reduction, the reduction of non-renewable primary energy, as well as the economic cost of applying the improvement measures that must be implemented in the building.
What type of building is it prepared for?
The tool is suitable for pre-dimensioning single-family and multi-family residential buildings. It has not been designed for other typologies, nor for individual homes within multi-family buildings.
How does it work?
The pre-dimensioning operation is as follows:
- Introduction of basic data on the building envelope and existing facilities
- Introduction of improvements in the building envelope to reduce energy demand
- Introduction of improvements in facilities to reduce non-renewable primary energy
- Obtaining the final result
The result of the pre-dimensioning gives: the percentage of demand reduction, the percentage of non-renewable primary energy reduction, as well as an estimate of the budget for the material execution of the works linked to the proposed improvements.
Pre-dimensioning of multiple options for a building
Once the first pre-dimensioning of a building has been done, different options or different scenarios can be obtained very quickly in order to find out the best options.
How to access it
To use the tool, you must access this website through the corresponding button. The tool is free and can be used without any limitations. You only need to be registered on the ITeC website. Therefore, if you are already registered, you do not need anything else. If you are asked to register, you can activate it through the form that will appear on the screen.
