Tools for structural rehabilitation

We provide you with access to some useful tools for rehabilitation that, despite their age (see the Background section), can be useful in the analysis of structural rehabilitation interventions both in the academic world, due to their pedagogical and professional value.

Background

When in 1990 the problem of unidirectional ceilings of concrete beams made of aluminous cement broke out, commissioned by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the ITeC carried out intense work related to the preparation of the census of buildings with this type of ceilings in Catalonia, as well as the proposal of methodologies for diagnosis and intervention for structural rehabilitation.

At the same time, the Government of Catalonia launched the Technical Cooperation Centre for the Rehabilitation of Housing, known in the sector as CTR, under the Department of Territorial Policy and Public Works, according to Decree 76/1992 of 2 March. This was created, according to the Decree “in order to promote and develop actions and measures of incentive, advice, research and support for the conservation and rehabilitation of the housing stock and, in particular, those affected by problems of structural pathologies”. The CTR extended its activity until 2000 when Decree 3/2000 of 10 January reorganised the functions it exercised.

Notices:

  • The tools that are made available are exactly the same as those that were made available at the time of publication.
  • The tools in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet format are compatible with current versions from what we have been able to verify. ITeC has not made any updates to it. Simply make them available “as they were” by downloading the corresponding file.
  • The concrete beam check tool runs on the web and therefore is not downloaded. No adaptation or improvement of calculation has been made, only the original program that was installed locally has been brought to the web.
  • The database of authorisations for the use of roofs has the same content and has only been adapted so that it can be consulted via the Web.
  • The correct use of these tools depends on the users, who are responsible for data entry and interpretation of the results obtained. ITeC assumes no responsibility for the calculations performed with these tools.
  • The ITeC does not provide a support service on these tools, beyond receiving suggestions or comments through the usual channels.
