What is carbon trading?

Carbon trading is the action of neutralizing CO₂ emissions by means of an economic contribution, proportional to the emissions generated, so that a project emits and reduces the same amount, thus offsetting the CO₂ generated.

These generated emissions are measured in tons of CO₂ (tCO₂) and the currency of exchange is called credit carbon.

1tCO₂ = 1 credit carbon

In other words, if a company emits 300 tCO₂ in a project, it must compensate them either by: reducing or buying carbon credits.

What are carbon credits?

The first step in offsetting CO₂ emissions is to calculate the carbon footprint of your project/work, and this is possible with the TCQiGMA software.
