Carbon trading, a mechanism for reducing greenhouse gases (GHGs)
The new carbon offsetting tool allows you to neutralize the carbon of the different stages of the construction process thanks to the integration of the Climatetrade platform with ITeC‘s TCQi-GMA software.
What is emission trading?
Reducing the carbon footprint has long been a key issue that we have addressed from different perspectives. This is how energy efficiency practices, an increase in renewable energies or a series of citizens’ movements demanding more institutional involvement have been carried out, among other things. Citizens, companies and organizations have contributed their grain of sand, the reduction of the CO2 that is emitted is a global problem, not local.
Because of this, the idea of an emissions trading system is emerging. This is a market instrument that is governed by the principle of “limitation and trade”, that is, the total amount of certain greenhouse gases that can be emitted is subject to a maximum limit, imposed by the corresponding government institution. Within this limit, companies receive or buy emission rights with which they can trade among themselves according to their needs. At the end of each year, they must surrender enough allowances to cover all their emissions, otherwise they are subject to heavy penalties. This trade can be national or international.
What is carbon trading?
Carbon trading is the action of neutralizing CO2 emissions by means of an economic contribution, proportional to the emissions generated, so that a project emits and reduces the same amount, thus offsetting the CO2 generated.
These generated emissions are measured in tons of CO2 (tCO2) and the currency of exchange is called credit carbon.
1tCO2 = 1 credit carbon
In other words, if a company emits 300 tCO2 in a project, it must compensate them either by: reducing or buying carbon credits.
What are carbon credits?
TCQiGMA is a powerful software that allows you to calculate the environmental impacts in building and civil works projects/works, in new construction, rehabilitation and demolition. It is included in the project management platform in the cloud TCQi, which allows to have backup copies of the data and manage the information of several actors in various time phases, an aspect that promotes the continuous improvement of the construction process.
Use the databases with environmental information that ITeC makes available and directly calculates the carbon emissions generated by your work, energy consumption during manufacturing, construction and use, making an efficient and controlled waste management in emissions.
At ITeC, we only understand offsetting through a detailed and effective process of reducing emissions. TCQiGMA has been designed in such a way that it allows a user to have information of reference projects, and through a process of analysis, always in a specialized way, reduce the emissions to the maximum and only, later, compensate them.
The generation of works and projects is an unstoppable and necessary process, but it must be done with the maximum possible information and reducing to the maximum the impact that we generate, not only in emissions but also in resources (ITeC is firmly committed to the change of the current economy to a circular economy)
Once you have reduced your carbon footprint to a minimum, you can then access the emissions offset tool, where you can, in a few simple steps, compensate for the remaining emissions that you have not been able to reduce in previous actions.
Come and learn about the software that will allow you to respond to new environmental challenges.

Each sector is committed to reducing its GHGs, and the diffuse sector has made a commitment to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 26% by 2030.
What is the diffuse sector?
This category includes the sectors:
- Residential, commercial and institutional
- Transportation
- Agricultural and livestock
- Waste Management
- Fluorinated gases
- Industry not subject to emission trading
Once you have reduced your carbon footprint to the maximum, it is then when you access TCQiGMA, an emissions’ compensation tool, where you can in a few simple steps, compensate the rest of the emissions that you have not been able to reduce in previous actions.
Both parties intend to accelerate the decarbonization of the sector, by integrating the platform that Climatetrade has developed and that allows the automatic compensation of the carbon footprint in the software TCQiGMA of the ITeC for the identification of environmental impacts. This integration will allow to neutralize the carbon of the different stages of the construction process in all types of works.
All this with the guarantee that the offset projects cannot be duplicated thanks to the blockchain technology of Climatetrade.
Thanks to the blockchain platform of Climatetrade, it will be possible to integrate in a simple, efficient and transparent way the monitoring and reporting policies of the Corporate Responsibility of the existing regulatory framework of the agents of the sector.
This is an initiative that reinforces the commitment acquired by ITeC with sustainability, offering companies and operators in the sector tools that allow them to prove the alignment of their activities with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDA).

All projects and their details (typology, country, Sustainable Development Goals, available tons, prices per ton, etc.) are available in the “compensation” tab “climatetrade” space within the TCQI-GMA software. Details of the process can be viewed in the extended USER MANUAL of the TCQI-GMA software.
The details of the process can be seen in the extended USER MANUAL of the TCQI-GMA software (MISSING insert LINK to PDF). Climatetrade uses Blockchain technology and makes it easy for TCQI-GMA software users to offset the CO2 emissions (or carbon footprint) of their works or projects.
There are no intermediaries, the money goes directly from the buyer to the seller, Climatetrade facilitates it, and therefore applies a commission to the buyer of the credits. This commission depends initially on the amount of the operation, in decreasing order (lower commission to higher amount). SEE NOTE 1 at the end. Terms and conditions.
There are no intermediaries, the money goes directly from the buyer to the seller, Climatetrade makes it easy. Terms and conditions.
If the purchase is made outside the European Union, VAT is not charged, and this is reflected in the corresponding invoice Terms and conditions.
Billing is done automatically and is received by email a few seconds after the commercial transaction (purchase of credits). It includes the fiscal data of the buyer (polluting company registered in the trade) and the seller (developer of the emission capture project). Terms and conditions.
Currently there are 3 means of payment: bank transfer, Credit Card and Paypal. Terms and conditions
Right. To do this, the TCQI user must first register and have a validated profile on Climatetrade. This includes accepting the Terms and Conditions that appear on the Climatetrade website. Només caldrà fer-ho la primera vegada, des del segon accés, no serà necessari repetir-lo, es reconeixerà automà ticament. It will only be necessary to do it the first time, from the second access, it will not be necessary to repeat it, it will be recognized automatically.
Yes, the carbon footprint of a construction project can be offset by different projects.
The system does not allow overcompensation, each project has a limit value for overcompensation.
No, there is no fixed price, in each project they are calculated according to different variables that try to give importance to the effort of each project to reduce emissions.
Right. Specifically, at any of the 4 moments of the building’s life cycle (project, work, use, dismantling), part or all of the carbon footprint can be calculated and offset.
ITeC contributes its technical means and know-how to obtain a reliable result of emissions from a building or a specific work based on its construction elements and activities. Once this metric is obtained, the ClimateTrade platform is used to compensate it.
The work that wishes to reduce its environmental impact can plan its compensation, contributing to another project that captures or sequesters CO2 in the same equivalent amount of Tons CO2.
The company or organization that wishes to reduce its environmental impact is provided with the “compensation” tab of the TCQi-GMA, where the various projects that capture CO2 from which it can buy these emissions will be shown. You simply have to choose how much CO2 you want to compensate and to which project you entrust its capture, pay what the capture costs, and the system generates the corresponding certificate.
The REDD + methodology is the most internationally recognized. In addition, all projects include the Sustainable Development Goals to which it contributes, out of the 17 in total that the United Nations promotes.
At climatetrade, the majority of the most recognized international entities agree on the verification, registration and cancellation of economic rights on emissions offsets on a voluntary basis. The United Nations (UNFCCC, global), VCS-Verra (verified carbon standard, global) and the Ministry of Ecological Transition of Spain stand out. Terms and conditions
