Review of the Construction Product Regulation
The ordinary legislative process of the review of the Construction Products Regulation was initiated with the proposal of the European Commission on March 30th, 2022. It has followed the phases planned for its adoption: the position of the European Parliament by means of IMCO (Commission of Internal Market and Consumer Protection), the position of the European Council, and the provisional agreement reached on December 13th, 2023 after the meetings of the Trilogue (Commission, Parliament and Council) held during the Spanish presidency of the Council of the EU (July – December 2023).
The final text proposal is currently being prepared and it should be adopted by the plenary session of Parliament and by the Council before being officially published in the OJEU (Official Journal of the European Union). Currently, its publication is planned for the second half of 2024.
