For ITeC, 2018 is a special year: we are celebrating our 40^th birthday. The institute was set up as a private non-profit foundation on August 1, 1978, with the aim of contributing to the ongoing improvement of quality in the construction sector. Right from the start, the Board has included representatives of all the agents involved in the sector: professional associations, public authorities, universities and business entities.

The objective of ITeC, as a benchmark institution in the sector, is to generate and facilitate the transfer of information and knowledge and to provide technological services that enable the various agents in the construction sector, from engineers and architects to private companies and public bodies, to become more competitive.

ITeC addresses with optimism and confidence the challenges facing the sector today – challenges that the institute itself is promoting: the process of transition that is taking the sector from its existing form to a new and more collaborative model, incorporating techniques of ongoing improvement and enhanced efficiency such as Lean Construction and Integrated Project Management and drawing on innovative methodologies such as BIM in the interests of greater transparency and efficiency.

In the course of this year now beginnig we will mark our 40^th anniversary with the celebration of 40 events in which the diffusion of knowledge will be combined with fun social activities.
