TCQi – Environmental model management

TCQi GMA allows you to elaborate the necessary documents from the study of management of construction and demolition waste and analyze the various environmental impacts caused by the construction materials and their construction work throughout the entire life cycle.

New concepts related to sustainability are emerging, the circular economy, the Water Footprint or carbon trading are examples. Times have changed, ways of doing things and communication between people have gone digital, in addition, a new need has been opening up over time, the obligation to care for our environment is now an urgency, a climate emergency. This is how action plans such as Agenda 2030 or conferences such as the United Nations Climate Change Conference have been created, all to help the planet. However, the solution lies not only in the major areas but in the joint contribution of society. From ITeC we created a work methodology to face this change, this way of doing has led us to create the software TCQi Gestión del Modelo Ambiental.

We are aware that this change towards a circular economy has to be a joint one; it is the responsibility of architects’, engineers’, promoters’ and consultants’ offices, etc. For this reason, it is necessary that we take a step towards technological renewal and from ITeC we will carry it out from the incorporation of new functionalities in the cloud. All this in an easy way and with the support of our distinguished Support and Training team that will advise and help you in all your projects. Compatible with BIM or any other BC3 software It should be noted that we will continue to strive to improve the program and offer you the best service.

Today we continue working on the union between TCQ and TCQi GMA, so that you can enjoy all the utilities that we offer from ITeC, with the acquisition of the new software TCQi GMA you can use TCQ 5.5 Environmental Management for free.

We’re working for a better future, with you.

Construction processes have environmental impacts due to the resources consumed and the emissions generated. According to Directive 2010/31/EU (19 May 2010), approximately 40% of the energy consumed in the European Union comes from the building sector. Moreover, it is a sector in constant growth, and consequently so is energy consumption. The construction sector is also responsible for 40% of natural resource use and 40% of the world’s waste generation.

It is clear that a change is needed in the construction industry in order to improve efficiency and achieve a more sustainable approach. As sustainability is based on three fundamental pillars (environmental, social and economic), a holistic approach is required to achieve an acceptable balance.

With TCQi GMA you will be able to take into account these three pillars in a simple way and all in the same software, in the cloud.

The most common method in the past, and to a lesser extent today, for waste management has been abandonment. The collection and disposal of waste is merely a form of abandonment that means that the waste produced both on site and during the demolition phase cannot be used in any way.

Given the three fundamental pillars on which sustainability is based (environmental, economic and social) the idea of abandonment is not acceptable. This is how we have evolved towards the reuse of, for example, large parts of old buildings which, after being reused, have become part of new works.

  • The correct management of waste requires the identification of the waste generated by means of a photographic report.
  • Know the current regulations.
  • Report on actions to prevent and minimise waste.
  • See excavation waste, waste separation (total i by phase of work) and operations and facilities for management that we must comply with 105/2008 and 10/2010.
  • To generate the structure of the budget with the elements used for waste management and complementary items, in order to know their final price.

With TCQi GMA you can do it.

The carbon footprint is equivalent to the amount of greenhouse gas emissions emitted directly or indirectly measured in tons of CO2. It represents the impact on the climate of the development of an activity and its calculation is fundamental for the creation of a plan to reduce it.

With TCQi GMA you can calculate the CO2 of the entire life cycle of a building and take the necessary measures to reduce its impact as much as possible.

Carbon trading or emissions trading is a market-based instrument that creates an economic incentive or penalty in pursuit of environmental benefit. We are talking about an incentive and a sanction because carbon trading works in this way; a central authority sets a limit on the amount of polluting gases that can be emitted; companies are obliged to manage their credits that represent the right to emit a certain amount of waste; companies that need to increase these emissions above their credits, must buy credits from other companies.

This ensures that on the one hand there is a balance between what is given for what is taken away, and on the other hand companies will try to reduce their carbon footprint as much as possible so that they do not have to spend cash.

TCQI GMA WORKS HARD TO INCLUDE NEW FEATURES IN THE SOFTWARE AND TO RESPOND TO CURRENT NEEDS. WE WORK FOR A BETTER FUTURE, WITH YOU

A public tender is a competition requested by an administration that needs a good or service. It is a process by which the contracting party invites different suppliers, on the basis of established criteria, to make a series of proposals to meet the administration’s need. It will study the proposals and choose the most advantageous one by awarding it.

This whole process will be carried out by means of certain legal requirements, as well as those established by the plaintiff himself, ensuring the greatest transparency, legality and equality among the participants.

TCQi GMA will help you both to control the legal requirements, through our regulation section, and to make the necessary documents to give to the administration. Make your job easier with our work methodology.

Law 9/2017, of 8 November, on Public Sector Contracts, which transposes into Spanish law the Directives of the European Parliament and the Council 2014/23/EU and 2014/24/EU, of 26 February 2014, article 148:

“For the purposes of this Law, the “life cycle” of a product, work or service shall be understood to include all the consecutive or interrelated phases that occur during its existence and, in any case, the research and development to be carried out, manufacture or production, marketing and the conditions under which it takes place, transport, use and maintenance, acquisition of the necessary raw materials and generation of resources; all this until disposal, dismantling or end of use occurs”.

In this law, we find the obligation to calculate the Life Cycle Analysis.

Life Cycle – GMA

The final step in waste management is not to generate waste, i.e. the circular economy.

The circular economy is an economic concept that is interrelated with sustainability, and whose objective is that the value of products, materials and resources (water, energy,…) be maintained in the economy for as long as possible, and that the generation of waste be reduced to a minimum. It is about implementing a new economy, circular -non-linear-, based on the principle of “closing the life cycle” of products, services, waste, materials, water and energy.

With TCQi GMA you will be able to identify the most important parameters to take into account for your work following the criteria of the Circular Economy. Becoming the only software on the market that helps you in this task.

In 2015 the UN approved 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDA) that are part of Agenda 2030, a plan for countries and their societies to build a sustainable future through a series of measures ranging from poverty elimination to equal rights for women, education, climate change and city design
.
Help us to fulfill all of them, we provide you with the working methodology, we work for a better future, with you.

Our main objective today is climate change, and when it is reduced, water will become the next key issue to be addressed. Acting in advance will help us not to reach a climate emergency point again.

Misuse of water, water poverty, progressive increase in water consumption, poor water management, and poor and obsolete facilities and large infrastructure may be the causes of the global water problem. Social and political awareness of the responsible use of water, together with advances in technology focused on efficient consumption and sanitation can be effective solutions, both at the urban and domestic levels.

Therefore, the consumption and efficient use of water is extremely important. In our case, the efficient use of water in the constructions, in its design, etc. is an aspect that we must manage.

At ITeC, we continue to work on updating and improving our work methodology to anticipate a future that is not so far away.
