BEDEC-reCICLAT promotes circular economy in the Environmental BEDEC

By Published On: 11/01/2022Categories: Databases, Innovation, Sustainability

All waste generated throughout the life cycle of a construction process is mostly recoverable and recyclable, as we saw in Flee the throwaway system, enter the world of the circular economy.

Through the recycling of waste, we can achieve its recovery and give materials a second useful life. Thus, we reduce both the consumption of raw materials and the total volume of waste.

The use of products with recycled content in the construction sector is low compared to their absorption capacity. This is partly due to the fact that the databases of construction elements used by technical prescribers contain little variety of products incorporating this environmental information.

The BEDEc-reCICLAT project, subsidized by the Catalan Waste Agency (ARC), offers you the solution to this problem.

The main objective of the project is for BEDEC Ambiental to have information on the pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled content of all its products and materials. This data will be available to all users of the ITeC database from 2022 onwards.

At ITeC we promote actions and policies that contribute to the management of resources in the construction process from a circular economy perspective and we encourage green public procurement.
