Opportunities for improvement in compliance checks and building permitsThe European project ACCORD (Automated Compliance Checks for Construction, Renovation or Demolition Works) is in its first year of work and is launching a consultation open to all agents in the sector to gather information to analyse the complex current picture of regulatory compliance and granting of building permits in Europe.

As explained in a previous post, the general objective of ACCORD is to help European countries digitize and automate compliances processes and permitting with the end goal of improving the productivity and quality of new construction, rehabilitation or deconstruction projects, as well as supporting the design of climate-neutral buildings and advance a sustainable built environment in line with the EU Green Deal and the New European Bauhaus.

ITeC is a partner of the project and participates by sharing experience and best practices in digital projects based on BIM.

The survey is one of the actions of the first ACCORD work package to find out and analyze the current situation in the European Union and the possibilities for future improvement in licenses and regulatory compliance. Regardless of the level of digital automation of these activities, it is interesting to collect information from users in all EU member states and territories.

If you are one of the agents in the process (promoter, designer, builder, construction manager, execution manager, product supplier, owner or user) or represent a body whose activity is related to compliance checking, building permits or administrative authorizations for projects, we invite you to participate in the consultation, contributing with your point of view and the opportunities for improvement that you envisage in the partial or total automation of these processes.
