In May 2017, there were 105 European Assessment Documents-EAD published in the Official Journal of the European Union-OJEU. In December 2019, there were already 210 EADs published in addition to 21 EAD amendments.

EADs are the reference for the European Technical Assessment-ETA development, whose results form the base for the declaration of performance and CE marking of products assessed.

Published EADs cover a wide range of building products, but there are also civil engineering products. You can find from innovative products to common use products, including among others, products with new intended uses or characteristics, niche products, kits and complex products.

The EAD and ETA route is confirmed to be useful and dynamic, offering a very wide field of action. It is a voluntary route that any manufacturer can use for those products without a harmonised standard for CE marking.
