New Commission study for the revision of the Construction Products Regulation

By Published On: 31/10/2019Categories: Old-EOTA

In Report No. 21 from the ITeC EOTA Office, the initiation of a new study for the revision of Regulation (EU) 305/2011 is highlighted. The European Commission has already carried out several studies on the Regulation based on surveys, interviews and technical platforms. They have recently launched a new study resulting from the previous, to support any decision to be made on future options regarding the Regulation.

Besides, it deals with the publication of two Commission Delegated Regulations. The first one extends the classes of performance of the resistance to wind load for external blinds and awnings, and the second includes classes of performance of air permeability for rooflights of plastics and glass and roof hatches. Both Regulations include these new classes of performance to better serve the present market needs.

Finally, the document of the Commission on EAD variants, entitled “EAD variants” is also highlighted. This document of the Commission has been elaborated to facilitate the extensions of European Assessment Documents-EAD cited in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). This affect any EAD cited in the OJEU, but especially those with a significant number of issued ETAs.

The Reports of ITeC EOTA Office regularly compile information – news with comments – and relevant documents issued at European level, based on EOTA meetings and documents circulated through this organisation.

EOTA is the European Organisation for Technical Assessment dealing with products either not covered by any harmonised standard or deviating from an existing harmonised standard. As a member of EOTA, ITeC participates actively at all levels of this European Organisation.
